As a pediatric nurse, my viewpoint regarding the issue is considerably based on the following theories: Developmental Milestones of Children Erik Erikson’s Psychosocial Theory Harry Sullivan’s Interpersonal Model Lawrence Kohlberg’s Stages of Moral Development Jean Piaget’s Cognitive Development Theory Contemplate first before speaking about morality and righteousness. I think, and based on brain development, children are not capable of understanding abstract things, such as love. Although syempre mayroon silang need for love, evolutionary trait yun ng mga bata. Pero siguro what the CBCP wants to say, and I agree with them on this one, is that the commercial “cheapens human relationships,” which is true. I personally hated the commercial, wondering why people say it is cute. LIKE WTH! Pera lang ba ang basahan ng relationships? Parang ang pinapalabas, material things lang ang habol ng mga babae. Although, I think it is not the CBCP’s decision to pull out one commercial. Yun nga lang, when you see something is not right, you react, and try your best to correct it. :D In response to your reaction re: McDo ad Sa tingin ko di naman kasi ang point ng commercial ay nadadaan sa pera ang mga babae. Tingin ko, dahil sinabi nung lalaki na ang mga babae demanding, gusto lang sabihin ng babae na she can find the joy in the simplest things aka McDo fries. They didn’t make the ad to show that women are materialistic. Actually, the concept is very relatable. I personally can relate to this because I remember my boyfriend telling me na he almost didn’t pursue me thinking na high-maintenance akong babae. Getting to know me more made him realize that I’m not one for extravagant things to make me happy. Para lang siyang sa McDo ad. *women who can relate, raise your hands* So di ko alam why people overanalyze the ad kahit ang simple lang naman ng gusto niyang paratingin. And with regards to cheapening personal relationships as CBCP said, SERYOSO BA KAYO TINGIN NIYO NABIBILI ANG BABAE SA MCDO FRIES? Coconut, where art thou. ^^SUPER AGREE :)
